To facilitate customs clearance at the Sultanate's ports, ensure your vehicle meets the requirements set by the Royal Oman Police and the Directorate General of Customs.

Vehicle Age (7 Years)

Exclusive to Oman: Private cars not exceeding 7 years from the date of manufacture are allowed for import (unlike 5 years in neighboring countries).

Standards & Specs

The vehicle must comply with approved Gulf Standards, and window tinting must not exceed the legal limit set by law.

Required Documents

An Export Certificate or Clearance Certificate from the country of origin is required, along with a valid ID card (or Residency) for the importer.

Technical Condition

The car must be free from major accidents (Clean Title) and pass the technical inspection upon arrival to ensure roadworthiness in Oman.

Warning: Prohibited Vehicles

It is strictly forbidden to import Right Hand Drive vehicles, cars damaged by flood or fire (Salvage), and former taxi vehicles.
